Become addicted to the planet


Did you know there is formaldehyde in your nail colour? Cancer causing agents in your mascara? Propane in your cooking spray?!

These, along with many other scary ingredients are prevalent in our home and beauty products, according to Adria Vasil in her book, Ecoholic.

Do something. Do nothing this Buy Nothing Day.

We all know the feeling. The want. The desire. The parting with our hard earned cash just to get it.

But why? Don’t we desire some other material product as soon as our first wish has been realized?

In an effort to remodel the modern consumer, Buy Nothing Day has become an annual event, celebrated on Nov. 23 and 24 internationally.

The dirty truth on antibacterial products.


With flu season upon us we may be scouring every surface, including our bodies, with antibacterial products.
From toothpaste to toilet cleaner, mattresses to countertops, antibacterial weapons are everywhere.
But are they really as good as they claim? Or are they being promoted by a marketing ploy playing on our fears?
